I think a good writer’s group is a great help to a writer, and I’ve been fortunate to be a member of a few that have been wonderful.  A good group encourages writing, keeps the writer focused, and certainly improves the final version.

Unfortunately, a bad writer’s group (and I’ve been a member of those, too) does the exact opposite. Worse, what makes a group work is complex, so it’s much more common for a writer’s group to be bad.

Over the past twenty years, I’ve constantly been the leader of some kind of writer’s group, frequently more than one.  I like to think I’ve learned a few things, and I also think the web could and should be a natural place for a writer’s group to work.  This is my effort to see what can be accomplished.

So, if you’re interested in writing*, and you have the time and willingness to devote to a group, and you want to do so online, here’s your chance.  Click on the links below for further explanations.

* - Note: I said writing, not publishing to make money and become famous.  That is not to say that someone in this group won’t.  I’m just warning you that it’s not the focus of why I write, and hence will not be the focus of this group.  If you are here to learn how to “crack the market”, or “write book proposals that will sell your book”, etc., then I recommend you look elsewhere.
